Ziel der Veranstaltung ist es, ein Grundverständnis der soziologischen Systemtheorie zu erarbeiten, wobei die Arbeiten von Niklas Luhmann im Mittelpunkt stehen. Einen Schwerpunkt werden die beiden ?Zumutungen? der Systemtheorie bilden, Bewußtsein und Kommunikation strikt zu trennen und den Handlungsbegriff von Kommunikation abhängig zu machen und nicht vom individuellen Subjekt. Im Weiteren wird es um die Themen ?funktionale Differenzierung?, ?operative Geschlossenheit? und ?strukturelle Kopplung? gehen, deren Ausgestaltung die Gesellschaftstheorie Luhmanns von allen anderen soziologischen Theorietraditionen (Weber, Durkheim, Parsons) distanziert. Illustrationen werden im Kontext der ökologischen und der politischen Kommunikation erfolgen.
