Ziel dieses Seminars ist es, aktuelle Entwicklungen im Sport anhand von Forschungsprojekten zu fokussieren. Dabei geht es einerseits um die Vermittlung von theoretischen und methodischen Grundlagen sportsoziologischer Forschung. Andererseits werden Ergebnisse bereits abgeschlossener Untersuchungen zur Strukturveränderung von Sportorganisationen bearbeitet, wie beispielsweise die Studie zu Erwerbsarbeitspotenzialen in Sportvereinen und Sportverbänden oder das Forschungsvorhaben "Global Player ? Local Hero", in dem die Veränderung von Spitzensportclubs im Blickpunkt des Interesses steht.
