Unter dem Stichwort "Metadaten" gibt es eine reichhaltige Aktivität zur inhaltlichen Erschließung von Dokumenten. Dabei geht es darum, Dokumente deskriptiv oder funktional zu klassifizieren und für Dritte bereitzustellen, also zum Beispiel für Suchmaschinen.
Die Veranstaltung enthält Vorlesungs- und Seminaranteile.
Im Vorlesungsteil werden nach Einführung eines Dokumentenmodells generische Strukturen für Layout und Logik eines Dokuments behandelt. Aus der XML-Welt werden dann DTDs und Schemata als deskriptive Metadaten für die logische Struktur eines Dokuments untersucht. Dann wird auf RDF(S) für die Beschreibung von Inhalten behandelt. In diesem Kontext wird auch auf den Dublin Core und MPEG-7 eingegangen.
Im Seminarteil werden einige Papiere zu aktuellen Fragestellungen bearbeitet.Die Veranstaltung findet nach Vorlesungsende statt. Terminaushang bei Frau Barner gegenüber M4-126.
Eine Anmeldung erfolgt unter karl-heinrich.schmidt@kommtech.uni-wuppertal.de. Mit der Anmeldung sollte die Bereitschaft vorhanden sein, ein Papier für den Seminarteil (ggf. mit einem Partner) zu übernehmen, das in der Anmeldebestätigung benannt wird.
