Im Wintersemester setzt die UniBigband die im Januar begonnene Probenarbeit am Charles-Mingus-Projekt fort.
Bluesig, erdig, schweißtreibend - vor allem für den Bassisten der Bigband - sind die Kompositionen des Kontrabass-Virtuosen und Komponisten Charles Mingus. Eine Mischung aus der Noblesse des Duke Ellington/Billy Strayhorn Ensembleklangs, dem Uptempo-Hochenergie Spiel des Bebop/Hardbop der 40-er und 50-er Jahre und der mitunter auch brachialen Klanggebung des freien Spiels der Freejazz-Periode der 60-er Jahre.
Das Abschlusskonzert findet Ende Januar 2005 im Audimax statt. Weitere Konzerte in Bielefeld und OWL sind in der Planung.Wir suchen dringend einen erfahrenen, variablen Bigband-Schlagzeuger, einen Lead-Trompeter (1. Trompete) und einen Solo-Trompeter (2. Trompete)!
Interessenten melden sich bitte bei Hans-Hermann Rösch. Über die Mitarbeit im Ensemble entscheidet die Bigband nach einigen gemeinsamen Proben.
