Wie viele andere moderne Wissenschaftsdisziplinen auch ist die Ökonomie in der Geschichte des philosophischen Denkens verwurzelt. Dieses Seminar ist der Auftakt einer Reihe von Veranstaltungen, die diesen historischen Wurzeln nachgeht. Der Schwerpunkt wird in diesem Semester auf Texten aus dem späten 17. und dem 18. Jahrhundert liegen, deren Diskussion nicht zuletzt helfen soll, das ökonomische und moralphilosophische Werk von Adam Smith zu verstehen. Dessen Werk wird dann voraussichtlich im Zentrum eines Seminars im nachfolgenden Sommersemester stehen.
Für eine Leistungsbescheinigung (im BA-Studiengang) wird ein 8 - 10seitiges Termpaper erwartet. Die Anforderungen für den Erwerb eines Leistungsnachweises (im Magister- oder Lehramts-Studiengang) werden zu Beginn der Veranstaltung bekannt gegeben.

Die Bereitschaft, sich durch intensive Lektüre auf die Sitzungen vorzubereiten und ein Kurzreferat zu übernehmen.

Die Veranstaltungsliteratur wird zu Beginn des Semesters als Reader und als Kopiervorlage zur Verfügung stehen.
