Die Veranstaltung befasst sich mit dem Konfliktpotential von religiösen Wahrheiten im demokratischen Staat. Sie will die rechtlichen und tatsächlichen Möglichkeiten und Grenzen, die Mitglieder der verschiedenen Religionsgemeinschaften in Staat und Gesellschaft zu integrieren, hinterfragen. Mit Hilfe vor allem von soziologischen Theorien soll ein Begriff der Integration entwickelt werden, der dann sowohl an die Literatur und Rechtsprechung zur Religionsfreiheit des Grundgesetzes als auch der EMRK (wie z.B. Status und Verbot von Religionsgemeinschaften, Diskriminierung ihrer Mitglieder, Islamunterricht, Kopftuch, Muezzinruf, Schächten usf.) angelegt wird und auf neuere "religionspolitische" Entwicklungen wie z.B. eine "Konkordatspolitik" mit dem Islam weist.
Der Erwerb eines Grundlagenscheins ist möglich.
