In der Veranstaltung werden zunaechst die Begriffe "Anwendungsorientierung" und "Sachrechnen" eroertert und ein Ueberblick ueber Inhalte des Sachrechnens (einschliesslich der sog. buergerlichen Rechnungsarten und Anwendungen in Alltag, Wissenschaft und Technik) in den Klassen 1 bis 10 gegeben. Der Begriff der Groesse und die Behandlung von Groessen und Zahlen in der Umwelt sind ein zweiter Themenkomplex. Danach sollen die Funktionen und Ziele des Sachrechnens diskutiert werden. Weiterhin wird es um Struktur und Schwierigkeiten von Textaufgaben (einschliesslich Kapitaensaufgaben) sowie Bearbeitungshilfen beim Loesen von Textaufgaben gehen. Ansaetze fuer ein "Neues Sachrechnen" sowie Beispiele von Anwendungsorientierung und faecheruebergreifendem Unterricht sind ein weiterer Themenkomplex. Ausserdem soll noch auf Dreisatzrechnung und Prozentrechnung sowie Statistikunterricht in Klasse 1 bis 10 eingegangen werden.
