In dieser Veranstaltung werden die Grundlagen der qualitativen Sozialforschung und die methodischen Prinzipien nicht-standardisierter Verfahren vermittelt. Die Veranstaltung besteht aus zwei Blöcken: Zum einen werden die hermeneutischen Grundprinzipien und die Profile einzelner Methoden der qualitativen Sozialforschung erarbeitet und vertieft. Zum andern werden von den TeilnehmerInnen einzelne Studienprojekte zu einem gemeinsamen Thema durchgeführt, bei denen die theoretisch angeeigneten Methoden in einem kleinen empirischen Untersuchungsvorhaben erprobt werden. Die Veranstaltung wird im SoSe 2005 als Aufbaukurs fortgeführt.
