Diese Veranstaltung wird insbesondere allen Studierenden empfohlen, die das Studium des Praxisschwerpunktes 'Organisationen: Unternehmungen, Verwaltungen, Non-Profits' neu aufnehmen. Sie dient der systematischen Vermittlung grundlegender Konzepte, Zugriffsweisen und Ergebnisse der soziologischen Organisationsforschung, auf die das weitere Studium im Praxisschwerpunkt aufbaut. Die Veranstaltung kombiniert in diesem Sinne theoretische, empirische, methodische und anwendungsbezogene Elemente.
Die Veranstaltung ist vierstündig. In Absprache mit den TeilnehmerInnen ist ggf. eine Aufsplittung vorgesehen: 3 SWS dienstags plus 1 SWS in Form von zwei gesonderten Blockveranstaltungen (im November und Januar).
