392162 Perl with examples from Bioinformatics (Part II) (V) (SoSe 2004)

Short comment

Contents, comment

Perl is a universal scripting and programming language that is used for many applications. It is easy to learn; its elementary constructs are sufficient to write powerful scripts. In this course, with some Perl programming experience required, we will learn the language "by example"; we will discuss, modify and extend Perl scripts. Most scripts will be taken from  Beginning Perl for Bioinformatics by James Tisdall,http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/begperlbio/, from chapters 11 onwards. Towards the end of the course, we will see how easily bioinformatics tasks can be accomplished using modules of the Bioperl-Project (www.bioperl.org).
