Das Seminar greift aktuelle Probleme der Sozialpolitik und des Sozialrechts auf, vor allem im Zusammenhang mit dem Umbau des Sozialstaats. Folgende Bereiche werden näher betrachtet: Gesundheit (Fragen einer "Bürgerversicherung" und einer "Privatisierung" von Leistungen), Alterssicherung (normativer Wandel, Besteuerung, private Vorsorge / "Wohlfahrtsmix", betriebliche Vorsorge, Geschlechtergleichheit), Arbeitsförderung (Konzept des aktivierenden Sozialstaats, Zusammenlegung von Arbeitslosen- und Sozialhilfe). Besonders im Bereich Alterssicherung werden auch andere europäische Länder und die EU einbezogen. Die Fragestellungen des Seminars sollen aus rechtswissenschaftlicher und aus soziologischer Sicht behandelt werden (Mitveranstalter: Prof. Lutz Leisering Ph.D., Fakultät für Soziologie). Das Seminar wird am Ende des Sommersemesters stattfinden. Es kann ein Wahlfachschein für die Wahlfachgruppe Sozialrecht erworben werden
