Bei der Verarbeitung biomedizinsicher Daten liegen Untersuchungsergebnisse oft in Form sogenannter Multi-Parameter bzw. Multivariater Bilder oder Mehrkanalbilder vor (MRI, DCE-MRI, fMRI). Ein zentrales Problem bei der Auswertung dieser Bilder ist deren geeignete Visualisierung, da eine direkte Darstellung der Daten kaum auszuwerten ist.
In dem Projektseminar wird dieses Problem am Beispiel von 7-dimensionalen Volumendatensätzen aus der Brustkrebsforschung behandelt. Hier sollen in Kleingruppen die Datensätze in verschiedene Gewebetypen segmentiert und anschließend visualisiert werden. Dabei wird auf bereits vorhandenen Visualisierungstools aufgebaut und diese um neue, sehr moderne Methoden erweitert. Am Ende des Projektseminars soll ein Prototyp eines Analysesystems für den behandelten Datensatz stehen.
