Die Vorlesung knüpft an die Veranstaltung aus dem vergangenen Semester an; ein "Neueinstieg" ist aber möglich. Im ersten Teil werden weitere Rechtsfragen, die sich aus der Nutzung des Internets ergeben, im Mittelpunkt stehen. Hierher gehören Haftungsregelungen, Datenschutzrecht sowie strafrechtliche Probleme. Der zweite Teil der Vorlesung beschäftigt sich mit dem sog. EDV-Recht. Im Vordergrund steht hier der Schutz von Software durch das Urheberrecht (z.B. Raubkopien, Dongles) und das Patentrecht. Daneben werden die wichtigen Hardware- und Softwareüberlassungsverträge erörtert. Die Veranstaltung steht auch Studierenden offen, die nicht am Zusatzstudium "Informatik für Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaftler" teilnehmen. Teilnehmer dieses Studiengangs erhalten die Möglichkeit, einen Leistungsnachweis zu erwerben.
