Die Veranstaltung hat bereits einen festen Kreis von Teilnehmenden in der Pormotionsphase, lädt aber zu weiterer Teilnahme ein. Das Programm richtet sich aus an den Diskussionsschwerpunkten, die von den Teilnehmenden für den Fortgang ihrer Qualifikationsarbeiten benannt werden. Die Veranstaltung lädt auch Studierende, die zur Zeit Diplomarbeit schreiben, ein sowie Studierende auf der Suche nach einem Thema.
Das Seminar wird einige aktuelle Veröffentlichungen zum Thema "Profession - Organisation - Geschlecht" diskutieren, laufende Arbeiten vorstellen und auf interessante Veranstaltungen hinweisen; auch können in begrenztem Umfang ReferentInnen von außerhalb eingeladen werden.
