In ihrer Selbstreferentialität betonen die Texte Katharina Hackers explizit, dass die Darstellung von Wirklichkeit zugleich die Deutung derselben ist. Somit bestimmt die Art und Weise des Erzählens auch, was erzählt wird. Von dieser erzählerischen Anlage der Arbeiten ausgehend, sollen im Seminar die ästhetisch-literarischen Reflexionen des historischen Prozesses und der individuellen Geschichtserfahrung in Katharina Hackers Erzählungen, die immer auf das Bewußtsein ästhetischer Konstruiertheit von Geschichte, Kultur und Erinnern verweisen, genauer erörtert werden.
Zusätzlich zum wöchentlich stattfindenden Seminarvorhaben ermöglicht ein Tagesworkshop mit der Autorin Katharina Hacker am 5. Juni 2009 den Teilnehmenden die persönliche Auseinandersetzung mit einer Autorin, die Romane und Erzählungen bzw. Erzählweisen von und über Geschichte entwickelt und eben: selbst erzählt.
