Die Vorlesung "Numerik für Informatiker'' bietet in kompakter Form eine Einführung in die wichtigsten Verfahren der Numerischen Mathematik. Vorgesehene Themen sind: Numerische Fehler, Polynome, lineare Gleichungssysteme, lineare Regression, Interpolationsverfahren, Lösung nichtlinearer Gleichungen, Funktionsminimierung, Eigenwertprobleme. Die dabei besprochenen Methoden bilden ein wichtiges Handwerkszeug für die Bearbeitung zahlreicher Aufgabenstellungen in den Natur- und Ingenieurswissenschaften. Darüber hinaus können die besprochenen Verfahren wichtige Konzepte der Analysis und Linearen Algebra in ihrer Anwendung illustrieren.
