In jedem Genomprojekt werden in großem Maße Daten generiert, die nur mit bioinformatischen Methoden ausgewertet werden können. Dabei werden zahlreiche algorithmische Techniken eingesetzt, die speziell zum Zweck der Genomanalyse entwickelt wurden.
In diesem Seminar sollen aktuelle Arbeiten zur bioinformatischen Analyse komplett sequenzierter Genome selbstständig erarbeitet und präsentiert werden. Vorträge können sich u.a. mit folgenden Themen befassen:
- Genomkartierung
- Sequenzassemblierung
- Genvorhersage
- Datenbanksuchtechniken
- DNA-Microarray-Design
- Techniken der Bilderkennung für Microarrays und 2D-Gele
- Algorithmen in der Proteomik
- Genomvergleich
Requirements for participation, required level

Die grundlegende Kenntnis der Begriffe und Methoden der Genomforschung wird vorausgesetzt. Grundkenntnisse über Bioinformatikmethoden in der Genomforschung, beispielsweise aus der Veranstaltung "Grundlagen der funktionellen Genomanalyse", sind hilfreich aber nicht zwingend erforderlich.
