Licht hat einen entscheidenden Einfluss auf alle Aspekte im Leben höherer Pflanzen. Im Praktikum sollen die molekularen Grundlagen der lichtgesteuerten Entwicklung, der "Photomorphogenese", am Beispiel von Gerste und der Modellpflanze Arabidopsis thaliana untersucht werden. Dabei kommen verschiedene Methoden zur Analyse differentieller Genexpression, z.B. northern blots, semiquantitative RT-PCR und Immunoblots zur Anwendung. Methoden der genomweiten Analyse von Transkriptprofilen werden vorgestellt. Ferner werden transgene Pflanzen mit chimären Genkonstrukten, bestehend aus dem Promotor eines lichtregulierten Gens und einem Reportergen, charakterisiert
