Die Vorlesung vermittelt fortgeschrittene Aspekte der Reaktionstechnik unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der in der Biokatalyse gebräuchlichen Reaktoren. Ausgehend von enzymatischen Stoffumwandlungen werden die grundlegenden Konzepte zur Analyse und Auslegung realer Reaktionssysteme entwickelt. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Analyse und Auslegung von Reaktoren für die Biokatalyse.
Die Veranstaltung wird als Spezialisierung im Hauptstudium des Studiengangs der Molekularen Biotechnologie angeboten. Auf der Grundlage der Vorlesung Biotechnologie III ist die Vorlesung auch für Studierende der Naturwissenschaftlichen Informatik (2. Hauptfach Biotechnologie), der Biochemie, Biologie und Chemie, sowie für Diplomanden und Doktoranden zu empfehlen.
