Im Mittelpunkt der Vorlesung stehen Entscheidungs- und Allokationsprobleme auf Märkten, auf denen die Interaktionen von Marktteilnehmern durch Informationsasymmetrien beeinflußt werden. Wir diskutieren die Frage, warum asymmetrische Informationsverteilungen typischerweise unvollständige Marktstrukturen nach sich ziehen und versuchen, gleichzeitig die Konsequenzen für die Koordinationsmechanismen auf solchen Märkten zu charakterisieren. Die Vorlesung beschäftigt sich ferner mit dem Problem, inwieweit Informationen durch Handels- und Preisbildungsprozesse offengelegt werden. Es werden spezielle Fälle betrachtet, in denen Märkten für die Beseitigung von Informationsasymmetrien unterschiedliche Funktionen zukommen.
