Wer ein System entwirft, das praktisch tauglich sein soll, oder wer ein System so umgestalten will, dass es anschließend besser funktioniert, tut gut daran, vorher abzuschätzen, wie eine geplante Gestaltung sich auswirken wird. Daher sind Methoden zur Beantwortung der Frage "Was wäre, wenn ..." so ernorm wichtig. Die Veranstaltung behandelt diesen Problemkreis und geht insbesondere auf das rechnergestützte Werkzeug GPSS zur Simulation und zum Entwurf komplexer Anwendungssysteme ein und erprobt sie am Beispiel.

Wer sich schon vorher umschauen möchte, der kann einen Blick in die Bibliothek werfen: Systemstelle: HI 700. Dort steht z.B.: F. Neelamkavil: Computer Simualtion and Modelling, 1987, John Wiley.
Die Veranstaltung eignet sich auch für den Bereich freier Fächerwahl. Es ist für das Wintersemester ein BI-Projekt als Folgeveranstaltung geplant.
