Die Gesamtveranstaltung (I und II) dient der Vorbereitung, Begleitung und Nachbereitung des Praktikums. Teil I hat die Vorbereitung auf das Praktikum zum Inhalt, das (in der Regel) in der vorlesungsfreien Zeit absolviert wird. Während der Semesterpause können Sprechstunden genutzt werden, um evtl. auftretende Probleme im Praktikum zu klären (Begleitung). In der ersten Hälfte des WS 2003/04 sollen in Teil II der Veranstaltung die Praktika nachbereitet und der Praktikumsbericht angefertigt werden. Ziel der Gesamtveranstaltung ist der Erwerb von Kompetenz zur theoriegeleiteten Reflexion pädagogischer Situationen und des eigenen pädagogischen Handelns.
Teil I wird eingeleitet durch eine Überblicksveranstaltung mit allgemeinen Informationen zum Praktikum, u.a. auch zu Rechts-, Versicherungs- und Haftungsfragen. Danach soll über unterschiedliche pädagogische Aufgabenfelder und im Praktikum zu erwartende Anforderungen und mögliche Probleme informiert werden.

Voraussetzung für die Teilnahme an den BPS-Seminaren im DSE-Grundstudium ist, dass die Studierenden bis zum Beginn (Mitte des Semesters) einen Praktikumsplatz gefunden haben.
