Computer Vision beinhaltet ein breites Spektrum an Methoden und Techniken, die Bilder und Bildfolgen in einem spezifischen Aufgabenkontext auswerten. In der Mensch-Maschine-Kommunikation wird dieser Kontext dynamisch über die Situation der Kommunikationspartner determiniert. In der Vorlesung werden Techniken des Computer-Sehens behandelt, die für eine Kommunikation über Szenen relevant sind. Dabei geht es um die Erkennung von Objekten, Ereignissen, Handlungen und Raumstrukturen. Wir werden uns anhand von klassischer und aktuellerer Literatur anschauen, wie Kontext bei diesen Erkennungsproblemen modelliert und ausgenutzt werden kann.

Vorkenntnisse in Bildverarbeitung und Mustererkennung sind wünschenswert.
