Kriegsberichterstattung im 19. und 20. Jahrhundert: Akteursgruppen und Wirkungsgeschichte
In der Veranstaltung soll der Frage nachgegangen werden, in welchem Maße die Kriegsberichterstattung im 19. und 20. Jahrhundert Abhängigkeiten unterlag. Dass es Versuche gab, Kriegsberichterstattung politisch und militärisch zu instrumentalisieren, belegen zahlreiche Beispiele. Vor diesem Hintergrund geht es auch um die Auseinandersetzung mit der wachsenden Relevanz des Kriegsberichterstatters und um das Wechselverhältnis zwischen Militär und Berichterstattung. Dass die medial vermittelte Frontberichterstattung mit der Herausbildung eines periodischen Zeitungswesens entstand, soll exemplarisch am Krimkrieg (1853-1856) und Deutsch-Französischen Krieg (1870/71) verdeutlicht werden. In welchem Maße die Bildmedien Fotografie und Film die Kriegsberichterstattung prägten, dokumentieren die neue illustrierte Presse im Ersten Weltkrieg (1914-1918), der staatlich organisierte Propagandakrieg im Zweiten Weltkrieg (1939-1945), aber vor allem die Visualisierung im Vietnam-Krieg (1964-1973) und Golf-Krieg (1991) respektive die digitalisierten Fotografien der betroffenen Kriegsparteien im Kosovo-Krieg (1999).
