Warum klingen ?schöne Stellen? schön? Die Musiktheorie erlaubt es, wenigstens einen Teil der Geheimnisse um die Qualität von Musik aufzudecken. Wichtig ist dabei zum Beispiel, ob ein Stück eher von seinen Akkorden (Harmonik) oder vom melodischen Verlauf der Einzelstimmen (Kontrapunkt) geprägt ist. Anhand konkreter Werke sollen elementare Gesetzesmäßigkeiten der Bauweise von Musik erlernt und durch praktische Übungen sowie Höranalysen nachvollzogen werden. Das gezielte Hören auf bestimmte musikalische Phänomene ermöglicht es uns ferner, die Qualitäten zu erkennen, welche entweder aus dem Befolgen oder aber dem vorsätzlichen ?Verletzen? eines traditionellen kompositorischen Reglements erwachsen können.
