The course concentrates on social and cognitive processes in communication and their application to behaviour in different social contexts (such as networking, sociability or soft skills), relevant to any academic or professional career.
Prerequisites-
Students are expected to be at least “Independent Users” of English (B2), according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Language's guidelines. A proficiency test will be available soon.
Workload-
As the focus is on communication, students are not expected to concentrate on written homework. However, it is recommended that students maintain a portfolio as a record of their achievements and for future reference. Should, classroom material be assigned to a specific lesson, it has to be studied prior to its assignment, as this will hopefully enhance communication dynamics.
Assessments-
Students are required to participate in a final exam at the term's end, capitalising on the knowledge obtained from regular course attendance. Other assessment tasks will be assigned in response to student needs during the semester.
Miscellaneous-
There is no course book involved, as lesson material is compiled from various sources.
