Internationale Studien zeigen, dass Gesamtschulsysteme dem dreigegliederten Schulsystems Deutschlands weitaus überlegen sind. Langes gemeinsames Lernen statt früher Auslese, individuelle Förderung statt Notendruck und Drohung mit Abstieg in eine minder angesehene Schulform bedeuten ein sozial gerechtes und leistungsfähiges Bildungssystem.
Im Seminar werden wir uns mit Heterogenität als Grundkonzept der Gesamtschule, der historischen Entwicklung des Einheitsschulgedankens sowie empirischen Befunden der Gesamtschulforschung auseinandersetzen. An konkreten Schulbeispielen werden spezifische, pädagogische Konzepte der Gesamtschule verdeutlicht. Außerdem werden - international vergleichend - integrierte Schulsysteme erfolgreicher PISA-Länder behandelt.
