Vor dem Hintergrund der Forschungsaktivitäten zum VW-Projekt "Wissenschaft im Umbruch" werden Erkenntnisstrategien und institutionelle Veränderungen der Wissenschaft unter den Bedingungen der Wissensgesellschaft besprochen. Gegenstand der Veranstaltung ist sowohl die Diskussion konkreter Forschungsprojekte als auch deren Einordnung in einen breiteren thematischen Rahmen.
