Ziel des Seminars ist es, verschiedene Ansätze zur phonetischen und akustischen
Beschreibung von Sprache vorzustellen und selber anzuwenden.Zunächst soll eine Einführung in das Transkriptionsinventar IPA (Internationales Phonetisches Alphabet) sowie das dem ASCII-Standard entsprechende IPA-Derivat SAMPA (Speech Assessment Methods Phonetic Alphabet) gegeben werden. Daran anschließend wird auf die akustischen Korrelate der artikulatorischen Merkmale, auf denen die Taxonomie des IPA basiert, eingegangen.
Neben den theoretischen Grundlagen von sprachspezifischen Aussprachephänomenen (wie z.B. Auslautverhärtung, Koartikulation / Ass imilation, Ambisilben etc.) soll deren Anwendung in verschiedenen Transkriptionsaufgaben vermittelt werden. Für weitere Aufgaben, die neben dem Labelling auch eine Segmentierung des Sprachsignals umfassen, werden entsprechende Tools zur Verfügung gestellt.
Das Seminar richtet sich an Studierende im Hauptstudium mit Interesse an Spracherkennung und bietet eine Einführung in die akustisch-phonetischen Grundlagen.
