Das Seminar richtet sich an Studentinnen und Studenten im Grundstudium. Spezielle Vorkenntnisse sind nicht erforderlich, Grundlagenwissen in der Mathematik im Umfang der ersten zwei Semester jedoch sicher hilfreich. Ziel des Seminars ist es, häufig zitierte Klassiker und einige bahnbrechende Arbeiten der Neuro-Literatur im Original vorzustellen in Form von Vorträgen selbständig zu erarbeiten. Der inhaltliche Rahmen reicht dabei von psychologischen Arbeiten des frühen 20. Jahrhunderts bis zu mathematischen Arbeiten der 70-er Jahre. Besonderer Wert wird auf eine gute Vorbereitung und Präsentation gelegt, d.h. das Seminar wird auch Grundlagen guten Vortragsstils vermitteln.
