Die Exkursion zu einem forschenden Industriebetrieb (hier "big pharma") soll zeigen wie in der Industrie die Entwicklung von Medikamenten durchgeführt wird. Besonderer Schwerpunkt liegt bei der Vorstellung von Entwicklungen biologischer Testsysteme für die Auswahl von Wirkstoffen für Medikamente. So werden in einem ersten Schritt ca. 1 Million potentielle Wirkstoffe in einem high throughput screening (HTS) mit Zellkultursystemen auf die potentielle Wirksamkeit untersucht. Wir wollen im Rahmen der Exkursion die Strategie der Industrie kennenlernen und auch über potentielle Arbeitsplätze sprechen.

Die Veranstaltung ist für die Studierenden der Genom-basierten Systembiologie vorgesehen. Falls Plätze freibleiben, können gerne auch Studierende der molekularen Zellbiologie, oder andere daran teilnehmen.
Die Anreise zu den Exk-Zielen erfolgt i.d.R. mit dem Zug.
