Unter den "Hygini Fabulae" versteht man eine mythographische Handschrift aus dem 2. Jh. n. Chr., die sich aus drei Elementen zusammensetzt: (1) Götter- und Heroengenealogie, (2) 220 Einzelsagen, (3) Indices.
Das Werk ist zwar unter dem Namen "Hyginus" überliefert worden, doch ist dieser sicher nicht mit dem gleichnamigen Bibliothekar und lateinischen Gelehrten aus dem 1. Jh. v. Chr. gleichzusetzen.
Im Mittelpunkt der Veranstaltung soll die Übersetzung des lateinischen Textes auf Grundlage der Teubner-Ausgabe von P. K. Marshall stehen.
Eine Textausgabe wird im Semesterapparat bereitgestellt.
