Als „-wandel“ oder „-krise“ oder gar „-katastrophe“ ist das Klima in aller Munde. In seinem Auftrag wird demonstriert, verhandelt oder gar geklagt. Aber: Was ist Klima eigentlich? Oder auch „was war Klima“ (Eva Horn)? Und wie wird es erfahrbar gemacht?

Das Seminar wird sich mit der Geschichte und Theorie des Klimas auseinandersetzen. Dabei werden wir nach den Relationen von Mensch und Klima fragen, nach (rasse-)hygienischen Diskursen, nach Verbindungen zu den Elementen, nach thermischen Strömungen, nach den Unterscheidungen zum Wetter und letztlich nach den Möglichkeiten der Darstellbarkeit des Klimas.
