Das Kolloquium versteht sich als Diskussionsraum für aktuelle Fragen und Entwicklungen im Bereich mediensoziologischer Forschung, ihrer Methoden- und Theorieentwicklung und gleichzeitig als Forschungswerkstatt zur Unterstützung von laufenden Qualifikationsarbeiten. Neben Vorträgen und "Methodengesprächen" von Mitarbeiter*innen der Professur und eingeladenen Gästen, bietet das Kolloquium in erster Linie Master-Studierenden (auf Anfrage auch Promovierenden und PostDocs) Gelegenheit ihre mediensoziologisch orientierten Qualifikationsarbeiten vorzustellen und sich im Forschungsprozess gegenseitig zu unterstützen. Teilnehmende finden Begleitung von der Formulierung der Fragestellung bis zur Verschriftlichung der Forschungsergebnisse. Sie können z.B. ihr Exposé oder ein Kapitel aus der Arbeit zur Diskussion stellen oder eigene Forschungsdaten mitbringen, die im Kolloquium gemeinsam analysiert werden. Studierende, die in der nächsten Zeit eine Qualifikationsarbeit im Bereich Mediensoziologie planen, sind ebenfalls herzlich zur Teilnahme eingeladen, um so die Forschungsperspektiven der Professur kennen zu lernen.
