Viele genetische Störungen beeinflussen die organismische Entwicklung und den Zellmetabolismus. Die Aufdeckung und Analyse dieser Effekte ist Teil der reversen Genetik und essentieller Bestandteil funktioneller Genomforschung. Das Modul vermittelt die notwendigen theoretischen Kenntnisse und beispielhaft die experimentellen Fertigkeiten, um biochemische und biophysikalische Aspekte der funktionellen Genomforschung zu adressieren. Die Methoden der Erfassung und Beschreibung der zellulären und v.a. metabolischen Dynamik werden anhand von pflanzlichen Fragestellungen vorgestellt. Das experimentelle Methodenspektrum wird ausgehend von einfachen zu komplexen analytischen Verfahren inklusive der Probenaufarbeitung fürhen. Die Dateninterpretation wird im molekulargenetischen Kontext beispielsweise unter Einsatz / Nutzung von Daten der Transkriptomforschung erfolgen.
