291056 Human Rights and Colonialism (Reading Club) (Ko) (SoSe 2024)

Contents, comment

The course is conceptualized as a reading club. Each Friday, we shall discuss a text of about 30 to 40 pages dealing with the question of how international human rights emerged at a time when many people in Africa and Asia still lived their lives under colonial rule, and how de-colonization relates to human rights. Students are expected to read and prepare questions prior to each of our meetings. Our working language will be English.

You’ll have access to the e-learning platform (Lernraum Moodle Course) on 8 April 2024.

At the end of the semester, students will be free to opt for writing and submitting a Hausarbeit in Schwerpunktbereich 6 (Bereich 3: international law).

I look forward to getting to know you in person.
