Die Lehrveranstaltung wird einen Überblick über die Entwicklung der deutschen Literatur des 16-18. Jahrhunderts geben, wobei die Zeit des 18. Jahrhunderts im Fokus stehen soll. Anhand von literaturpolitischen Auseinandersetzungen, die in dieser Zeit vor allem in der Form von Kritiken, Satiren und Parodien geführt worden sind, werden wir uns die unterschiedlichen Literaturprogramme und –konzepte der Aufklärer, Stürmer und Dränger, Klassiker und Frühromantiker erarbeiten.
Behandelt werden u.a. folgende Texte:- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe: Die Leiden des jungen Werthers
- Friedrich Nicolai: Die Freuden des jungen Werthers
- Christoph Martin Wieland: Alceste
- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe: Götter, Helden und Wieland
- Heinrich Leopold Wagner: Deukalion und seine Rezensenten
- Jakob Michael Reinhold Lenz: Pandämonium Germanicum
- Johann Wolfgang Goethe / Friedrich Schiller: Xenien
- Ludwig August Tieck: Der gestiefelte Kater
- August Klingemann: Freimüthigkeiten
- August von Kotzebue: Der hyperboreische Esel oder die heutige Bildung
- August Wilhelm Schlegel: Ehrenpforte und Triumphbogen für den Theaterpräsidenten von Kotzebue
Zur Studienleistung gehört die regelmäßige Teilnahme an den mündlichen Diskussionen in der Lehrveranstaltung. Eine benotete Prüfungsleistung kann in Form einer Klausur erworben werden.
