Im Seminar werden Fragen der Arbeits- und Industriesoziologie besprochen und diskutiert, wobei der Schwerpunkt auf den "aktuellen" Veränderungen der Arbeitsgesellschaft liegt.
Die Themenschwerpunkte sind u.a.:
- Entgrenzung von Arbeit
- Subjektivierung von Arbeit
- Flexibilisierung und Prekarisierung
- Mobilität
- Erwerbsverläufe, Lebensläufe und Karriere
- Arbeit und Leben
- Leistung und Erfolg
- Anerkennung und ArbeitDie kritische Reflexion der theoretischen Konzepte zur Formation und dem Wandel der Arbeitsgesellschaft stehen ebenso im Mittelpunkt der Lehrveranstaltung wie die Diskussion von empirischen Ergebnissen.

Das Seminar ist für diejenige Studierenden gedacht, die sich bis jetzt noch nicht (oder nur in geringem Umfang) mit arbeitssoziologischen Fragestellungen auseinandergesetzt haben.

Die Seminarliteratur wird im Stud.IP elektronisch zur Verfügung gestellt. Zusätzlich wird ein Semesterapparat eingerichtet.

Erwartet wird die regelmäßige und aktive Teilnahme an der Veranstaltung, die die Anfertigung von Arbeitsaufgaben, der Teilnahme an Gruppenarbeiten und Diskussionen sowie die vorbereitende Lektüre von Texten einschließt.
Eine benotete Einzelleistung kann in Form eines Referats mit schriftlicher Ausarbeitung oder durch eine Hausarbeit erbracht werden.
