IMPORTANT NOTE: "Introduction to Linguistics I" will be offered for the final time in WiSe25/26!

In this class you will be given an overview over the descriptive areas of linguistics (phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics) as well as the tools and terminology used in these areas.

Please note that this course will be conducted digitally in an asynchronous format (i.e. you will be able to progress through and complete the course via Moodle without any in-person meetings or any time constraints, except for a final deadline). Throughout the semester, non-mandatory Q&A meetings via Zoom will be offered (see dates in eKVV).

This course is aimed at those students who still need to complete a Studienleistung for "Introduction to Linguistics I".
