In diesem Seminar widmen wir uns der Einführung in die Gattungstheorie und Geschichte des Dramas sowie der Dramenanalyse. Neben der Aneignung elementarer Begriffe und "Werkzeuge" der Analyse erarbeiten wir einen Überblick über die theoretischen Grundlagen von Aristoteles bis Lessing. Den Mittelpunkt der praktischen Übung bilden dabei Gotthold Ephraim Lessings (1729–1781) Dramen, die repräsentativ für Theorie und Praxis des Dramas im 18. Jahrhundert stehen. An ausgewählten Beispielen werden die erlangten Kenntnisse und Kompetenzen erprobt. Nicht zuletzt das noch heute auf der Bühne beliebte, von Lessing sogenannte "Dramatische Gedicht" Nathan der Weise eignet sich hervorragend für die Auseinandersetzung mit der Entwicklung des Dramas des 18. Jahrhundert.
