This Methods Class is part of the graduate training program of the Leibniz-ScienceCampus "Studying Regional Development Dynamics and their Political Consequences", SOEP RegioHub at Bielefeld University (SOEP@UBi), see https://lsc-soep-regiohub.com/. In addition, the class is open to PhD students of the BGHS and BiGSEM Graduate Schools at Bielefeld University.
The methods class focuses on a) geospatial information available with SOEP survey data, b) how to combine SOEP data with external regional indicators, and c) methods to analyze geospatial properties of SOEP households. R & RStudio will be used for practical applications and exercises.
