Die Vorlesung dient dazu, die Studierenden mit den technischen Verfahren des Umweltschutzes, den betrieblichen Strategien im Umweltschutz und den Messmethoden des Umwelt- und Gesundheitsschutzes vertraut zu machen. Die Studierenden sollen nach der Lehrveranstaltung in der Lage sein, die technischen Aspekte des Umwelt- und Gesundheitsschutzes zu verstehen, zu bewerten und in eine interdisziplinäre Problemlösung einzubeziehen.
Nach einer Einführung über umweltrelevante Schadfaktoren und Messmethoden werden Verfahren der Umweltschutztechnik und betriebliche Umweltschutzstrategien erläutert. Vor- und Nachteile werden herausgearbeitet und die Verbindungen zum Gesundheits- und Arbeitsschutz aufgezeigt.
