220023 Vormoderne Seeherrschaften: das Königreich Dänemark (S) (WiSe 2021/2022)

Von der mythischen Vorzeit der seefahrenden Wikinger aus soll der skandinavische Raum bis hin zu den nordischen Großreichen in den Blick genommen werden. Seine Marktsiedlungen und Handelsemporien des Frühmittelalters, Ethonogenese, Mission und Christianisierung, Landnahme und Herrschaftsbildung im Spannungsfeld verschiedener Ethnien, Kulturen und Konfessionen, hochmittelalterliche Landeskolonisation, Verstädterung im Spätmittelalter, Adelskultur der Reformation, absolute Herrschaft und Überseeexpansion, Âufklärung und Bauernbefreiung sind in weitere europäische Zusammenhänge einzubinden. Aus der Perspektive der zeitgenössischen Chronistik sowie königlicher und kirchlicher Rechtsquellen werden Grundzüge der Entwicklung des dänischen Ostseeimperiums aufgezeigt.
