What is global governance? What do international organizations have to do with it? Why and how do they matter? How do we study these phenomena? How are the national, international, and global levels related? What is the difference between, for example, the World Health Organizations and Transparency International?
These and related questions are at the heart of the seminar “International Organizations and Global Governance” Together, we will further ask: How can we make sense of these questions from a sociological perspective? How can the available literature help us in grappling with this complex and relevant phenomenon? What kind of theoretical and methodological tools can we use to study international organizations?
The language of the seminar is English. Course syllabus and readings will be made available via Lernraum before the introductory seminar (April 15, 14h, Zoom).
The Zoom link for the introductory seminar can be found in the course Lernraum.
