In der Vorlesung werden wir diese Kerngebiete der Theoretischen Philosophie kennenlernen und ausgewählte Themen, Positionen und Argumente aus den Bereichen Erkenntnistheorie, Wissenschaftstheorie, Sprachphilosophie, Philosophie des Geistes und Metaphysik diskutieren. Es wird dabei um Fragen gehen wie z.B.: Was ist Wissen?, Was ist Wahrheit?, Was zeichnet wissenschaftliche Theorien aus?, Was ist sprachliche Bedeutung?, Wie verhält sich der Geist einer Person zu ihrem Gehirn?, Wie erlangen Philosophen Erkenntnis? Was ist Identität? Was ist möglich? etc.
Zur Vorlesung werden zwei Tutorien angeboten, in dem zentrale Hintergrundtexte zu den diskutierten Positionen gemeinsam gelesen und diskutiert werden. Bitte melden Sie sich unbedingt sowohl zur Vorlesung als auch zu einem der Tutorien an.Die Tutorientermine sind: (1) Fr 12-14 Uhr, (2) Mi 16-18 Uhr

Die ganz kurzen Artikel des folgenden Lexikons bieten einen guten Einstieg in die Thematik; besonders hilfreich sind die Einträge zu „Wissen“, „Wahrheit“, „Wissenschaft“, „Bedeutung“, „Geist und Seele“, „Materialismus“, „Metaphysik“ und „Gott“. Wer mag, sollte da hineinschauen.

Zum Abschluss des Kurses werden in einer 90minütigen Klausur die in der Vorlesung und im Tutorium (s.u.) vermittelten Kenntnisse abgefragt.
Es werden fünf LP vergeben. Um als Studierender im Haupt- oder Nebenfach die Leistungspunkte zu erhalten, müssen Sie die Klausur bestehen und zu einem der Tutorien angemeldet sein.
