220086 Die griechische Kolonisation (S) (WiSe 2024/2025)

Die sog. griechische Koloniation umfasst einen Zeitraum von knapp drei Jahrhunderten (800-500 v.Chr.). In ihrem Verhauf entstanden zahlreiche Poleis vorallem an den Nordküsten des westlichen Mittelmeeres sowie des Schwarzen Meeres. Einige noch heute berühmte Hafenstädte wie Syrakus, Neapel oder Marseille gehen auf sie zurück. Das Seminar behandelt die Voraussetzungen und mögliche Vorbilder (Phöniker) sowie den Ablauf und die Rückwirkungen der Entstelung von griechischen Städten in dieser Zeit. Damit soll auch die üblicherweise etwa stiefmüttlich behandelte "Peripherie" der Griechischen Geschichte zu ihrem Recht kommen.
