Die Position des Geschäftsführer bzw. der Geschäftsführerin eines Sportvereins stellt ein mögliches Berufsfeld für Sportwissenschaftler dar. Vereine sind allerdings recht eigentümliche Organisationen, da sie als Interessenorganisationen über ganz spezifische Strukturen verfügen (z.B. Ehrenamt, freiwillige Mitgliedschaft, Demokratieprinzip). Ebenso gilt es, ihre gesellschaftliche Einbettung in den Blick zu nehmen (z.B. Stichwort: Verbände, Gemeinwohlorientierung etc.). Ein erfolgreiches Management muss diese Besonderheiten von Sportvereinen erkennen und entsprechend in den Planungs- und Steuerungsprozessen berücksichtigen. Ziel der Veranstaltung ist es, hierfür die Grundlagen zu schaffen.
