Das Seminar wird sich mit religionssoziologischen Fragestellungen und Forschungsfeldern befassen. Zunächst werden einführend klassische religionssoziologische Konzepte und Problemstellungen sowie die theoretischen und theoriegeschichtlichen Grundlagen der Religionssoziologie behandelt. Anschließend steht eine zentrale Thematik der Religionssoziologie im Vordergrund, nämlich die unter dem Stichwort „Säkularisierung“ geführten Diskussionen um das Verhältnis von Religion und Moderne. Abschließend werden mikrosoziologische Fragestellungen thematisiert: Religion und Identität, religiöse Netzwerke und religiöse Vergemeinschaftungen.
