Die zelluläre Anpassung an die verfügbaren Nährstoff- und Energievorräte und Stoffwechselmodulatoren erfordert die Aktivierung und Regulation komplexer molekularer, physiologischer und biochemischer Mechanismen. Im Kurs wird an pflanzlichen Objekten die Bedeutung veränderter Genexpression auf der Transkript- und Transkriptomebenen untersucht. Für ein Monitoring der adaptiven Genexpression auf Zell- und Gewebeebene werden Promoter-Reporter-Gen-Analysen und Fluoreszenz-Protein-Tags (z.B. GFP) eingesetzt werden. An ausgewählten Genen wird die Bedeutung veränderter Genexpression für die Anpassungsfähigkeit auf den Ebenen von Transkription, Translation bzw. der Physiologie der Pflanzen untersucht.
