As an International student you may find the style of learning and teaching at Bielefeld University in some ways different to what you might be used to from other universities in other countries. Difference can be both challenging and exciting.
This 2-day workshop is intended for students wishing to further develop their academic skills, improve their understanding of academic culture and explore ways of communicating effectively during their studies at Bielefeld University. We will focus on topics such as written assignments, stylistic conventions, plagiarism and other essential and relevant areas where you should pay special attention to. We will also deal with topics such as communication with lecturers, supervisors and staff and spend time looking into our own working styles. Based on your own background and experience, we will cover these and similar issues in an informative, supportive and enjoyable way, giving everyone a chance to participate.
Date: 14th and 15th February 2017
Time: 9:15 – 15:45
Please note: Registration is open until 5th February. Room details will follow after registration. Participants should plan to attend both days of the workshop. Places are limited, so early booking is advised. To book a place, please contact the International Student Council: isr@uni-bielefeld.de."
